What to Expect.

Your safety, comfort and well-being are important to us. We want your visit to be positively memorable. Here are a few tips on enjoying a visit to Spa Phoenix.

Our Reservation/Cancellation Policy

Visa/MasterCard/American Express or a valid Gift Certificate is required to reserve Spa services or packages for one hour or more. Cancellations must be made by 4pm on the day prior to your service date or you will be charged 100% of your service price.

When to arrive

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your treatment in order to check in, complete new client forms or turn in the spa client information form you’ve filled in prior to your first visit. You’ll then have time to decompress before you enjoy your scheduled service.

Gift Certificate Use

Spa Phoenix gift certificates are given because others want you to look and feel your best. Gift certificates are non-refundable. You may use the full dollar amount of your gift certificate towards the services of your choice. Your gift certificate is your form of payment, so please have it on hand at the start of your appointment. Spa Phoenix cannot replace a lost or misplaced certificate.

Client Forms

The client form isn’t meant to be intrusive. Your health history informs and allows us to tailor spa and salon services to your health. The client form is standard in many spas.  Our spa’s first-time visitor client forms are provided at the spa when you check in. If you prefer, download the form, complete it and bring to your first visit. spa client information form (for all) :: massage client form (massage clients only)

Client Confidentiality and Privacy

All visitors may trust that their personal information is kept private and confidential.

Service Scheduling

If you’re partaking of several services, they will be scheduled in a way that is logical and practical for your best results.

Tipping

Our policy is to leave tipping to you. At Spa Phoenix, we only include the tip in your bill when you ask us to do so. Envelopes will be provided if you wish to tip in cash, and the sealed envelope will be given to your therapist or stylist.

Changing and relaxation areas

Spa Phoenix has separate changing areas and restrooms for men and for women. Lockers are provided if your treatment requires a change of clothes. You will be offered a locker, which we can secure with a lock that we will provide. A key will be given to you, and we will keep the duplicate in case it’s misplaced. In each changing area, there is a steam shower provided for your use for before and/or after your treatment.

Robes, Spa Slippers and Towels

Spa robes and slippers, towels (and toiletries) are provided at no additional cost. After you’ve dressed, leave the towels, robe and slippers in the basket in the changing room. Spa robes and slippers are available for purchase.

What to Wear

We will never compromise your modesty.  What to wear under the spa robe?  It’s up to you. Most spa clients prefer to wear undergarments. Therapists will only undrape the portion of your body that is being treated. You may remain clothed during a reflexology session. When in doubt, tell the spa staff your preferences, or ask the spa staff what is usual, regarding dress for your particular treatment. It’s best to remove your jewelry before a treatment or leave it at home. Body piercings? Most can remain in, though you may want to alert your therapist to their presence (or newness) if that area is addressed during your treatment.

Quiet Zone

Spas are meant to be relaxing and quiet. Cell phones, pagers and loud conversations are not appropriate. And, leave your PDAs in your spa locker or at home. This is your time to be away from outside distractions.

Shower Fresh

To allow products to absorb well, it is recommended that you take a brief shower at the spa before your treatment. Allow yourself time to partake of this and still begin your treatment on time.

Refreshments

Water and light snacks are provided in the relaxation room of most spas. Enjoy a glass of wine or a microbrew with our compliments. Spa Phoenix is Virginia ABC-licensed to serve clients of age. If you would like for us to arrange for a spa lunch for you, let us know. Menu selections from No Frill Grill can be found below. Delivered to the spa, you may enjoy your lunch in the private client dining room.

Talking to Your Therapist

Communicate your issues or concerns to your therapist when you first meet them. If you have a particular injury or physical condition, explain it to the therapist. If you have trigger points that create physical or emotional discomfort, let your therapist know. He or she will then suggest appropriate adjustments to your treatment and get your agreement to them. After your initial conversation, should you talk during your treatment? It’s entirely up to you. If you have questions or would like to talk, do so.  The staff takes their cues from you.  If you’re quiet, they will be too. Your therapist may leave your treatment room for a few moments (once or twice during your treatment) either to mix up a product or to let you relax. They should let you know before they leave the room and make sure you are comfortable with your surroundings. If the temperature of the room, music or the pressure of your therapist’s touch needs adjustment, please let them know.

Ending a Treatment

If for any reason you need to end a treatment before its scheduled conclusion, leave the room. Please check in with the spa manager to let them know before you leave.

After Your Treatment

When your treatment has just ended and the therapist extends an invitation to “take your time getting up” while they leave the room, just how long is it acceptable for one to continue lying there reflecting on the experience? In most instances, the treatment room will be needed in the next 10 minutes. Dress, and collect yourself in the treatment room. Then, finish relaxing in the changing area/locker room or to take refreshments in the lounge area. In the changing room, steam showers can add to the enjoyment of your treatment. Again, towels and basic toiletries are provided at no additional charge.

Thank you – we look forward to welcoming you to Spa Phoenix and Salon.
